Because of a growing population and strains on public funding, Texas urgently needs evidence-based research to support and inform the policy-making process and guide public investment.

We partner with state and local government agencies to translate their research agendas into evidence-based, policy-relevant research projects that inform agency decision-making. Our data-driven solutions empower government agencies to maximize limited resources while making a difference in the lives of all Texans.

A research center of Rice University’s School of Social Sciences, the Texas Policy Lab draws on the expertise of the university’s faculty and its own professional research staff in addressing today’s social issues.
